HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
Hope everyone is having a good day and a good week-end :)
This post is going to be short and sweet :) Only one new book to report:
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson - Thanks to Ames, I discovered Ms Matson through Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. I loved that book and there was never a doubt I'd get Second Chance Summer. I've actually started reading it today and while I'm not done, it's already a winner for me :)
Hey, I can actually write short post!! Who knew! LOL.

Ames also made me want to read Matson, but despite having her out from the library a couple times I still haven't read her...
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on that book! I read Amy & Roger's Epic Detour and loved it, so I hope Second Chance Summer is just as good!
ReplyDeleteHave a Great Week.
LOL, you can write short posts. =)
ReplyDeleteI love Matson so I'm looking foward to your thoughts on this one. I'm sure it'll be fabulous! =)
LOL @ the short post comment! I've not heard of this book before, is it YA? It seems like you've been reading quite a bit of YA lately.

Kailana - Definitively read Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. That book was really great :)
ReplyDeleteAlex - I hope to review it soon, but not sure when yet ^_^; I think that's another tough one to review :P
Rowena - Unbelievable, right? :P
It was a fabulous read :)
Li - LOL, well I mean, look at how my mini-reviews turned out ^_^;;
It is contemporary YA, but very good :) The theme of this book is definitively not an easy one.
And yes, I've been on a YA kick lately ^_^; Any suggestions? :P
Ummm... Andrea K Host's Touchstone trilogy ;-) Or Sarah Rees Brennan's books!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though - it seems like you've been reading contemp YA, and I've been more on the SF/F side, so I suspect they may not be what you're looking for. Keep the contemporary recs coming though!
Li
Li - Oh thanks Li!! I completely forgot about it and there's some good coupons right now! So I can buy Touchstone :P And hmmmm, I'll try the Sarah Rees Brennan books again. But I think I need a hardcopy. Going to check out the library :)
ReplyDeleteI actually usually prefer YA UF/F/SF too :) However, there's a few YA contemporary authors that I enjoy and they just happened to have new releases lately :) I think it's because I want to read contemporary romance, but there's not much out there that isn't small-town ^_^;
Only one book but a good one from all accounts! Like I mentioned, I'm going to read it but will have to be in the right mood for the subject.
ReplyDeleteLeslie - Oh definitively! And yes, this is definitively a book you'd enjoy more if you were in a mood. The good news is that reading the blurb, you are not blindsided by the events :)
ReplyDeleteI've had Amy & Roger's Epic Detour on my tbr list for ages. Argh. Maybe this summer.. it's a summer road trip book, right?
ReplyDelete"Hey, I can actually write short post!! Who knew! LOL."
So impressive! ;)
Christine - Read it, read it, read it! and yes, it's a road-trip book :) Perfect for the summer actually!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if it wasn't for the "Happy Mother's Day," i think this post would be the shortest I've ever written :P
