Hauling Sunday LXXXIV

Happy Canada's Day!! LOL, I find it kind of funny that Canada, US and France have their national day in the same month, and actually, very close in dates :) Did you know that in Quebec province, Canada's Day is also synonym of Mega-Moving Day. Basically, most leases for apartments in Quebec are renewed on July 1st and as a result, there is A LOT of moving. And I'm really not kidding when I say a lot! Basically, the prices for renting a moving truck or hiring movers triple! And LOL, it's also the most profitable day for pizzerias :) This is because Quebec's Day is on June 24th and is only one week apart from Canada's Day, as a result, we get two long week-ends or at least, two shorter weeks in a row.

Anyway, that's not interesting! Let's talk books instead! First of the month means taking a look at the upcoming new releases :) Yep, the July New Releases post is up at Breezing Through! Take a look, but I'm warning you, the list is really long! Here are some of the books I cannot wait for! I'll be hunting the bookstores to get them :P

In the meantime, I'll have to make do with the books I got this week :) Here is what I got through the mail:

Scandal Wears Satin by Loretta Chase - I really enjoyed the first book, Silk is for Seduction. I actually quite enjoy conman/woman characters :) We'll see if this one is as good as the first book :)

Starlight by Carrie Lofty - Another 2nd book in a series. The first book, Flawless, was my first taste of Ms Lofty's writing and definitively not my last :) I hope this one feel as unique :)

And that's pretty much it for the week :) It was a bit slow, but I'm expecting it to pick up in the next couple of weeks LOL. What did you get?

  1. I am STILL waiting for my books from Book Depository. That's the only drawback. Hopefully this week!

Are you reading either one yet?

  2. Oh, I keep meaning to read Cary Lofty but kind of keep forgetting :P
And, Good Luck, ames, book depository is great but they do take forever to deliver! :)

  3. Ames - Did you get it yet? Yeah, I agree with you on the wait being the drawback. But hey, think of the cheaper price :P

I haven't picked them up yet. Soon I hope.

Alex - I hope you enjoy her, Alex!

  4. It seems like the heroine's naked back pose is popular with the historical romances lately. So pretty!
