Hauling Sunday XXXIV

Ugh, why did we have to lose an hour this week-end?!? I have so many things to do, one of them a presentation for work :(((, and I don't feel like doing anything, sigh.

I think the most depressing though has been my reading. I have only 4 books read so far this month I think ^_^; They're good books though, which cheers me up, but still. Haven't been able to just focus and read in one sitting lately :(

Okay, going to stop whining LOL. Onto books or actually, book :) The next couple of weeks are quiet book-buying wise. Everything I really want is coming out at the end of the month... So I haven't had cause to step into a bookstore, but LOL, we all know that it doesn't mean anything. I actually pre-ordered The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong and needed a book to round up my purchase... so here is what I got :)

Five Flavors of Dumb by Antony John - I really like the cover of this book and read some good reviews for it. However, what won me over is that Piper, the heroine, is deaf :)

So there you have it, my haul this week :P

  1. I read Five Flavours of Dumb a little while back and really liked it - I hope you enjoy it too.

I was going to pre-oreder The Gathering yesterday but resisted. I am going to find and read her first YA trilogy before I will let myself get The Gathering.
I have read the first book but have lost track of the other two - I am going to try find them later.
    Happy reading.
    Sally.

  2. Wow, one book? That's it!

LOL, I know what you mean... the books I want all come out toward the end of the month too.

I'll keep you company on the reading front. I've finished 5 and one was a serialized episode that only has 107 pages -- does that even count?! :(

  3. I hadn't heard of Five Flavours of Dumb before, but I've just hopped over to the author's website and it sounds really good.

And it's quality, not quantity (or so I keep on telling myself) ;-)

  5. You would think I wouldn't notice the loss of one hour but of course, my sleep is all ruched up again. Ooops. And I think my next big buy is April 31 with Nalini Singh's Kiss of Snow - woohoo!!

Kresley Cole doesn't have another book out till next year - like wtf!? and I need to drop in at Annie's and see if she is up to anything.

So yeah, 5 is always better than the numbers that come before it ;)

  6. We don't even change time here but it still messes me up. LOL I have to remember that we're now in the Pacific time zone & 3 hours behind the east coast. And the shows on cable change time too.

I'm getting this one from the library for the teen. So far I'm 3 for 3 with the books I got her last week. We'll see how she likes this one. :)

  8. Sally - Yep, I know :) It's actually your review that convinced me to pick up this book :) And I did enjoy it a lot :) Thanks!

LOL, I think you better read her first YA trilogy, it's going to give you a little background for this one :) I hope you enjoy those, cos I really did :)

Hilcia - It counts!! It does count! LOL.

And yes, one book :) and there was a sale and I didn't even go!! How good was I?!? :)

Li - It is pretty good, Li :) I enjoyed it quite a bit... going to try to review it eventually :P

True, true. Quality over quantity, but if you can have both...

Alex - It was pretty good, Alex ;) But keep in mind, I don't read that much contemporary YA.

Yeah, April is really coming fast!!

    Cindy - I don't want to burst your bubble, Cindy, but the Nalini Singh is coming on May 31st, not April ^_^;

Anne Stuart actually has a new series/trilogy coming out, but it's paranormal and under a different name. Hmmm, can't remember what she chose as a pen name...

And really, Kresley Cole only has one book out this year? Weird.

Leslie - Really?!? That is so weird, Leslie. LOL. At least though, you don't lose sleep :)

LOL, isn't she happy her mom can choose her books? :P

Mollie - Actually, isn't three pretty good for you Mollie, consider we're only half-way through the month (not even, yet) and your previous months? :P

Ohhhh! Hey, want to buddy review it then? :P
